Nothing will drive change for our region and for the world more forcefully than our changing climate.

This was the comment made by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while delivering his address at Fiji’s national consultation workshop on the 2050 strategy of the blue Pacific continent held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

He said every year the urgency of climate action intensifies.

“So, as we send our prayers to our friends living along the Gulf of Mexico, let us reinforce those prayers with a commitment to maintain our momentum for climate action,” he said.

“Unmoved from our position to cap temperature rise at the 1.5-degree target.”

Staff from various ministries, private-sector and Non-Government Organisations are all part of the one-day consultation.
