2022 General Election: Vote ’em in or out.

FIJIFIRST leader Voreqe Bainimarama says his party should reign forever because it unites people.

He said this while speaking in Savusavu on Tuesday, where he urged supporters to vote the FijiFirst government back into power because of the developments it had put in place.

His statements came a day before The People’s Alliance (PA) and the National Federation Party (NFP) held rallies on Vanua Levu, where the parties’ leaders were welcomed with vocal “Vote them Out” cheers in reference to the FijiFirst party.

Speaking to large crowds that gathered in Labasa, Dreketi and Bua, PA leader and former prime minister Sitiveni Rabuka also said FijiFirst’s rule was coming to an end.

Meanwhile, Fiji Trades Union Congress (FTUC) national secretary Felix Anthony said this year would mark an important milestone for workers and unions as they stood at a crossroad to determine whether Fiji could have true democracy.

In a statement, Mr Anthony said workers had struggled to exercise their rights to win any concessions from the Government or employers over the past few years.

Former Fiji Teachers Union general secretary and NFP candidate Agni Deo Singh also spoke on governance at a rally this week where he said “governments come, governments get elected in a democracy, they come, they do their bit, they go”.

“The next government comes, carries on from there.”
