194 Fijians migrated out of Fiji in March

597 Fijians left the country in March for a duration of one year and more.

143 left the country for absence of 1-5 years on employment reasons, 145 departed for education and training while 105 emigrated.

163 Fijians left the country in March for a period of 5 years and more, out of which 89 were permanent emigration.

The Fiji Bureau of Statistics said a total of 14, 031 Fiji residents departed our shores during the month of March of which 12,720 or 90.7% were for a short-term absence of under three months and 714 or 5.1% were for over three months and within 12 months period.

A total of 597 or 4.2% of resident departures were for a longer-term absence of 1 year or more.
