180 graduate from nursing college in Labasa

More than 180 students graduated from the TISI Sangam College of Nursing and Health Care Education at Civic Centre in Labasa on Wednesday.

And 97 of them graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing, 21 received Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery, 61 in National Certificate in Aged Care and Community Care while four graduated in absentia.

Officiating at the event, Minister of Finance Professor Biman Prasad said the school had been providing quality nurses to the healthcare system.

Since its inception in 2005, he said the college had been at the forefront of nursing education, aligning with the Government’s, Look North Policy and contributing significantly to the poverty alleviation initiatives.

He said the journey of each student had been one of resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the noble profession of nursing.

He said they were not just healthcare professionals, but changemakers, leaders and the embodiment of the nation’s hope.
