“TONIGHT, and going forward, sleep assured that we are firmly committed to continue giving the news that is fair, just, balanced and honest.”
This is the assurance from Motibhai Group of Companies chairman and chief executive officer Kirit Patel as The Fiji Times celebrates its 150th year in operation.
Speaking at the newspaper’s anniversary ball at Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Friday night, Mr Patel acknowledged all loyal readers and advertisers of the newspaper who have “stood by us over the years, and more so believing and trusting us and for this, our commitment is to make sure the integrity of The Fiji Times is not blemished during our Motibhai Group stewardship.”
“To this day and going forward, trust, fairness and integrity will be the ethos of The Fiji Times as these timeless values have been a linchpin to building the credible, reliable, trusted and respected newspaper that it is today,” he said.
The Motibhai Group is the seventh owner of The Fiji Times since its establishment 150 years ago.
