SWIMMING Australia swam their way into the spotlight, delivering a dominant, championship-winning performance as the 2026 Oceania Swimming Championships came to an end on Tuesday evening held at the Damodar National Aquatic Centre.
The Australian squad lit up the pool on day 4 of competition, storming to an impressive 36-medal haul across the men’s and women’s events. With blistering relay finishes, flawless turns, and commanding individual swims, the green-and-gold powerhouse once again proved why they remain a force to be reckoned with in Oceania swimming.
Among the standout moments of the day was the electrifying medley 4×100 meter relay, where relay anchor Koa Stotz delivered a memorable finish for Swimming Australia, clocking a time of 3:52.80s.
Speaking to journalists after the race, Strotz said the victory was driven by pride, passion, and the bond shared within the team.
“I want to do this for the team, you know? It just means a lot doing it for our country, our team, and everyone here. It’s a big honor to be anchoring the relay and to perform that well,” Strotz shared.
Alongside the outstanding performance of the Australian men’s team, the women’s team also delivered an impressive showing, with the award for the best female performance going to 16-year-old Keahne Bergin.
After four days of Host nation Fiji captured the support of the home crowd with a strong second-place overall with 17 medals, while Tahiti secured third place, earning 11 medals to cap off an impressive campaign.
