THE McDonald’s Fiji Drua Women are set for their first pre-season outing of the year after naming their squad to face the Waratahs Women in Suva today.
The Waratahs Women return to Fiji for the first time since 2024 as the defending Super Rugby Women’s champions.
Head coach Mike Legge has named a 28-member trial squad featuring several new faces, including Karavaki Lutumaibau, Ruth Raketekete, Michellae Stolz, Zipporah Sorokacika, Elesi Saukuru, Selai Naliva, Keri Lawavou, Vilisi Tivalele, Varanisese Qoro, Aqela Raitubu, Vika Nakacia and Ivamere Nabura. Legge has also included two players from the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side Kelera Roqorua and Vatiseva Cavuru to pull on the Drua jersey for the trial match.
In the starting 15, Karalaini Naisewa will start at loosehead prop, with Tiana Robanakadavu at tighthead prop and captain Bitila Tawake at hooker.
Carletta Yee starts at lock alongside Karavaki Lutumaibau in the second row. Nunia Daunimoala has been named at blindside flanker, with Alfreda Fisher at openside flanker, while Sulita Waisega takes the number eight role.
In the backline, Evivi Senikarivi starts at halfback and partners Imeri Nai at flyhalf. Repeka Tove returns on the left wing, while Michellae Stolz lines up on the right wing. Josivini Naihamu starts at inside centre with Ruth Raketekete outside her, while Litiana Vueti has been named at fullback.
Players on the bench include Zipporah Sorokacika, Elesi Saukuru, Keleni Marawa, Selai Naliva, Keri Lawavou, Vilisi Tivalele, Kolora Lomani, Varanisese Qoro, Aqela Raitubu, Kelera Roqorua, Vatiseva Cavuru, Vika Nakacia and Ivamere Nabura.
