ONCE the $10 million renovations are complete, Mana Island Resort & Spa will offer guests an unprecedented dining and entertainment experience, says general manager Ulrich Hofgen.

Major renovations began in November last year of the main resort area, Mamanuca restaurant, main lounge, main kitchen, family round pool, pool bar and ocean view rooms.

Mr Hofgen said new additions to the resort included a new cafe, new swimming pool with swim-up bar, new signature restaurant and decking around the pool and restaurant.

“The renovations are quite extensive and well on their way, however, there are some slight delays and this is mostly from our contractors,” he said.

“We estimate the works to be completed in August and while it is taking slightly longer than planned, I can say that it will be well worth the wait.

“Already, with the work that has taken place, the results are quite stunning and once it is finished, it will be something that visitors to Mana will truly enjoy.”

Mr Hofgen said despite the major upgrade works, occupancy levels remained high.

“We have a lot of in-house guests although we have 30 rooms under renovation at the moment and we’re looking very strong for the rest of the year.”

Mr Hofgen said until the Mamanuca Restaurant reopens on August 31, the resort would provide sufficient dining areas at the South Beach Restaurant with increased seating in the conference room and also a temporary pool grill and temporary bar around the new swimming pool to cater for guests around the pool all day and into the evening.

Mana Island is in the Mamanuca Group of Islands and is located 32km west of Nadi International Airport and access to the island is available via a South Sea Cruises fast catamaran.
