The largest secondary school cadet’s passing-out parade was once again claimed by Natabua High School with 1020 students taking part in the annual spectacle held at the school grounds in Lautoka yesterday.
The occasion attended by an even larger crowd of parents, guardians, relatives and friends of the students, the parade marked another historic milestone for the school.
Chief guest Commissioner Western Apolosi Lewaqai said this was one of the biggest parade ever displayed by a secondary school, which was a huge achievement for the school.
“The parade training displayed today does great training to you, to Natabua High School and to the country as a whole because they have done so with distinction,” he said while addressing the student cadets.
“Your attention to detail is indicative of the hard work and dedication.”
He said all of the learning from the cadets training would also help build character inside the classroom.
“Through your cadet training you will have set a course for your future that only you can pursue.
“Whatever you choose to do the lessons of discipline, patriotism, duty, honor, integrity, honesty and service that you have learnt as cadets will stay with you for all your lives.”
Natabua High School head boy and Baton of Honor recipient Titifanue Howard said he was proud to have been given the opportunity to lead the parade this year.
“As a senior student, I was very happy and proud to be part of the parade and also march with my fellow seniors as we take part in the parade for the last time,” he said.
“The training was tough but I am very grateful for it because I know it will help me in my life after high school.”
