Dilkusha Home in Nausori was blessed yesterday after a group of youths from Nasinu committed their Saturday cleaning the facility.

Youth group head Sakiusa Tuimavana said it was a joy to bring happiness to the lives of underprivileged children.

“There are around 40 to 50 members in our youth group, they are all rugby players,” Mr Tuimavana said.

“So as we break from our training schedule, we decided to come here and assist the home.

“This is our third time here, I believe we should help the underprivileged because these are people who are in need of assistance.

“We have been helping the home with the cleaning since last week.”

Dilkusha Home superintendent Deaconess Sala Kacivakawalu said the number of youths who volunteered to clean the facility was overwhelming.

“The youths from Nasinu have been coming here since last week as part of their outreach during the Lenten season,” she said.

“They help us clean the library and the whole compound, they also bring their own tools.

“This is great help to us because we don’t have manpower at the home to assist in the cleaning.”

She also acknowledged students from Kalabu Secondary School for assisting in the clean-up yesterday.

Deaconess Kacivakawalu said there were 32 children under their care.
