The talent development league was initially piloted last year. Fiji, according to OFC was one of only eight countries chosen by the FIFA Talent Development Scheme to pilot the project.
Children in the U-9 to U-15 grades were part of the event in Suva while footballer, Roy Krishna was invited as a special guest for the league.
These children displayed excellent talent at the Suva turf, while Krishna and other football enthusiasts stood on the sidelines giving advice and encouragement.
“If football is something you want to pursue, you must make sure to take good care of your body and train daily,” Krishna said.
Krishna also took time to speak to players, showing them some basic footwork drills during the launch. Over 2300 children from 160 teams were registered to participate in the event.
