Experiencing what Fiji has to offer is on Renata Te Nana’s list who arrived yesterday ahead of the 12th McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

He was nominated by his father and former New Zealand 7s star Karl Te Nana to join the Ambassador All Stars team.

The Ambassador All Star team is a new inclusion to the yearly tournament with stars like Karl Te Nana, David Campese, Bryan Habana, Lote Tuqiri, Noa Nadruku, Ben Gollings, Collins Injera and DJ Forbes selecting their players to make the team.

This is young Te Nana’s first time in Fiji and is eager to get on the field.

“Just to get out there, experience what Fiji has to offer, meeting a lot of new players, culture in terms of rugby on and off the field so I’m looking forward to it. This is my first time in Fiji, but my family has been here. My step-mum is from here and my sisters so it’s my first time coming over and I’m hoping I get to see and meet them as well. I think everyone came here to win, no one really comes over just to take part. We will be expecting a lot of tough competition and I look forward to getting out there and doing the damage,” said the son of World Rugby commentator, Karl Te Nana.

Renata will play alongside some big names including former South African 7s captain Kyle Brown, former Fiji 7s star Semi Kunatani and Kenya’s Billy Odhiambo. Ben Gollings’s son Woody Gollings and Vili Satala Jr are also part of the team.

The Coral Coast Sevens will kick off on Thursday and runs on until Saturday.
