Joining the professional environment helped build Setareki Turagacoke’s rugby rapid rise.

Turagacike has been a revelation for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians.

He was spotted by Fiji Rugby’s High-Performance Unit (HPU) at the age of 16 and after two years,  he played his first Test in Fiji’s 33-19 win over Spain. He scored a try.

He left Fiji to join Stade Français Academy and is part of the senior team in the French Top 14.

At just 18 years old, the former student of Lelean Memorial School made a memorable debut for the Mick Byrne-coached side against Spain last Saturday at the Estadio Jose Zorilla.

The young forward from Dakuinuku, Tailevu, entered the game during the final quarter and quickly became a standout player.

Turagacoke scored a try to help secure the 33-19 victory for his team with a crucial contribution.

Despite being expected to come off the bench, Turagacoke delivered when it mattered most.

With the Flying Fijians in control, he won an important line-out in the closing stages, which set up a powerful forward drive.

The drive culminated in Turagacoke scoring his first-ever test try, a moment that not only thrilled his teammates but also the crowd, marking an exciting start to what promises to be a bright international career.

Turagacoke’s rise has been impressive with his natural talent, speed, and strength quickly caught the attention of selectors, leading him to progress through the HPU’s apprentice program and academy.

This combination of skill, athleticism, and determination has set Turagacoke on a path to greatness.

As he continues to develop both with the Flying Fijians and Stade Français, rugby fans will be eagerly watching his progress.

Turagacoke has already proven he can handle the pressure of international rugby, and it’s clear he has a bright future ahead.
