Head teachers must uphold discipline and ensure classrooms inspire learning.

While opening the 42nd Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference in Denarau yesterday, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro called on the head of schools to lead with example.

“Head Teachers hold the power to transform schools and communities,” said Mr Radrodro.

“You are leaders, guardians of learning, and mentors to all under your care.

“Visionary leadership is not optional. It is expected. The People’s Coalition Government supports you to guide teachers effectively, engage parents and communities and foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and excellence.

“Leadership and monitoring are not side responsibilities – they define the culture and success of your school.

“Your conduct directly shapes the values, ethics, and performance of your students and staff.”

He said monitoring was about leaving no child behind.

“As Head Teachers, you must uphold discipline, ensure classrooms inspire learning, tackle challenges head-on, and lead innovation in teaching.

“It is through this vigilant leadership that our investments in education will truly transform the lives of every Fijian child.”
