Please allow me to express my disappointment at the introduction of yoga classes into our education syllabus which I believe obviously is a breach of the constitutional rights of schoolchildren and their parents. Our children belong to various religions and must have their choice.
While it may have its benefits, you need to regard others’ rights to have options that can calm their mind (relax) instead of yoga.
Yoga is yoked with certain religious gods and it is impossible to separate it from that religion whether its Kudalini or Tantric format. I believe this is absolutely disrespectful to say the least and is definitely not a very liberal approach in our education system
I hope the subject will be introduced on a voluntary basis as reported to us by Charlene Lanyon (FT 22 /6/16).
