A new Yoga centre will soon open in Vanua Levu, allowing locals to learn and practice yoga.
This was announced by the Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Palaniswamy Karthigeyan at Ramayan Mela in Suva yesterday.
He said this was part of the various initiatives by the Indian government to strengthen the partnership with Fiji.
“There are several other small such projects which we keep doing around the year, the objective of that is simple, to foster the connections, to foster stronger engagement at the people-to-people level,” he said.
Mr Karthigeyan emphasised the role of people in fostering the relationship between India and Fiji.
“You provide the living bridge between India and Fiji.
“You have an important role in making sure that this relationship that goes back 145 years will further get strengthened as we enter into the knowledge era.”
