Women’s Fund Fiji (WFF) has appointed Victoria Yee as its new Executive Director.

Vicky, as she is widely known, has been serving as the Acting Executive Director,

She has played a pivotal role in guiding the Fund through its transitionary period over the past few months.

Following a rigorous recruitment process, she has now been officially appointed to lead the Fund into its next chapter.

Governance Board chair Patricia Naisara expressed her confidence in Vicky’s leadership.

“Vicky brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing the work of the Fund as we continue our mission to support and empower women’s organisations across the country,” Ms Naisara said.

An accomplished development practitioner with over two decades of experience, Vicky has dedicated her career to localising social policy and driving impactful change at the grassroots level.

She has also contributed significantly to key organisations, including the International Labour Organization (ILO), Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation, and the University of the South Pacific

(USP), where she worked on advancing social policy, gender advocacy, and governance initiatives.

Ms Yee said she was deeply honoured to step into this role and continue the vital work of Women’s Fund Fiji.

“The feminist movement in Fiji and the Pacific is strong, and I look forward to working alongside our partners, grantees, and stakeholders to ensure that we continue to align with the vision and the values of the Fund,” she said in a statement from WFF.

“This is an exciting time for the Fund, and I am committed to strengthening its impact, both internally and externally, as we move forward together.”

WFF is the Pacific’s first national women’s fund, established in 2017 to provide sustainable funding and capacity-strengthening support to women’s groups, networks, and organisations in Fiji

The Fund works to advance gender justice, human rights, and feminist leadership by ensuring that women-led and feminist organisations have the resources they need to create lasting change in their communities.

With the new executive director appointee, the organisations said it was poised to strengthen its impact and expand its reach, continuing to empower grassroots movements and amplify the voices of women across Fiji.

Ms Yee’s appointment came into effect on March 31, 2025.
