Grog farmers in Bua have formed an interim committee with the purpose of paving the way forward for the multi-million dollar industry.
The farmers elected the committee at the National Kava Taskforce training program currently held at Saolo Village.
The training funded and organised by the Ministry of Agriculture provided sessions for farmers to understand the importance of the procedures involved in producing quality kava.
Principal Agriculture officer Eastern Epeli Dugucagi said such trainings have assisted farmers understand their roles in the industry.
The interim committee members are: Chairman – Tomasi Tuinabuna, Assistant Chairman-Basilio Pita, Treasurer – Arthur Mills, Assistant Treasurer – Esira Secretary – Sanaila Tawake, Assistant Secretary-Monika Cakobau
