Wreck used as roadblock

PRO-RUSSIAN rebels in Ukraine have added pieces of the wreckage from Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 to a makeshift roadblock used to prevent people from entering the separatist Donetsk region.

Ukrainian journalists managed to capture images of what appear to be pieces of the aircraft’s fuselage and other parts scattered next to a roadblock near the village of Rassypnoye, Europics reports.

“We wanted to take more pictures and question about how the wreckage was being used in this way,” journalist Boris Mihalov said.

“They wanted to take the camera’s memory card, but we gave them an empty one.”

The photos were handed over to Ukrainian authorities, according to Europics.

Flight MH17 was flying over eastern Ukraine on July 17 when a Buk missile brought the plane down near the city of Torez, about 25 miles from the Russian border. All 298 people on board were killed.

Ukrainian media officials believe the pictures of the discarded wreckage being carelessly used as a roadblock are an example of the lack of respect rebels have shown since the attack.

Pro-Russian separatists sank to an incredible low last week when they planted land mines around the MH17 crash site to keep out investigators.
