A LOCALLY-owned resort on Denarau Island in Nadi has won the 2014 World Luxury Hotel Awards.
Sheraton Fiji Resort has been named as the Luxury Family Hotel for Australasia & Oceania for 2014′.
The announcement was made at the annual Gala Ceremony for the 2014 World Luxury Hotel Awards held at The Bay Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa in December 2014 and was well received by the resort.
Hotel manager Scott McDonald said they were indeed thrilled by this award and it demonstrated their commitment to their guests and clients and the trust they had in them and their brand.
“Our brand brings people together and our mission is to create a feeling of community so that no matter where you come from in the world at Sheraton Fiji Resort — You Belong,” said Mr McDonald.
He said 2014 had been a big year for the Sheraton brand in Fiji.
Owned by local Fijian proprietary company, Ritam Investments Ltd, which is owned by P Meghji Group, the resort is the only internationally branded hotel in the Mamanucas bringing a trusted and upscale brand for both business and leisure travellers.
“Winning the Award for Best Luxury Family Hotel in Australasia & Oceania has been well received by our associates and all credit is given to them for all their commitment shown in 2014 which was quite a tough and challenging year for all,” he said.
“We only look forward to what 2015 has in store.”
And to add to its accomplishments for 2014, Flying Fish Restaurant at Sheraton Fiji Resort has been announced finalist of the 2014 AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Sheraton and Westin Resorts are finalists in four different categories with Sheraton Denarau Villas, The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa and Heavenly Spa by Westin being privileges to be alongside other outstanding contributors to the tourism industry in Fiji.
