THE construction of a concrete company plant at Sabeto, Nadi, has created employment opportunities for neighbouring villages.
This has been welcomed by the communities as it would bring in income.
Metromix Concrete Fiji says it expects to sign up 50 people for the construction of the Nadi-based plant which will supply various branches across the western and central divisions.
Company director Mohammed Yaseen Aiyub said the company was focused on generating income not only for themselves but also for the people they employed and the Western Division as a whole.
“We’ve invested a considerable amount of money in this and we’re looking forward to working with the community, not only for our benefit but also for theirs,” he said.
“We want to ensure they get the best quality service from us and generally our new plant will make our work easier in terms of supply but also for clients we supply.”
Winstone Aggregates Fiji general manager Azad Ali said it was an arm of the company, Winstone Aggregates (Fiji), and would operate the new plant which had a capability of supplying large volumes of stock at short notice.
