THE Fijiana XV’s will once again be led by 21-year-old captain Alfreda Fisher when they face Scotland early Sunday morning(Fiji Time) in Manchester.

Head coach Ioan Cunningham said Fisher’s work rate and leadership qualities have inspired the team.

“Alfreda is a superstar for us. She leads with her actions you only must look at her involvement in our try against Canada.

“She’s everywhere in those big moments, and that’s why she’s such a vital leader for this group. We’re excited to see her lead us again against Scotland,” Cunningham said.

Scotland, who impressed in their 38–8 win over Wales, will present a different challenge with their northern hemisphere style, set-piece strength, and defensive systems.

“We know Scotland will bring a lot of physicality, a strong kicking game and a solid set piece. We’ll need to be sharp at the breakdown and create opportunities to unleash our athletic players in space,” he added.

Vice-Captain Bitila Tawake said the team is focused heading into the clash.

“There are always nerves and emotions at this stage, but as a team we are staying composed and concentrating on the small details.

“We’re excited to see Michella’e Stolz and Alowesi Nakoci in the starting lineup they’ll bring a lot of energy. We’re looking forward to the challenge against Scotland,” she said.

Both coach and players also thanked Fijian fans for their support.

“Keep those positive messages coming – they mean so much to the team. The players are giving everything for Fiji, their families, and their villages. Your support lifts us, and we carry that pride into every match,” Cunningham concluded.
