GILL Mailman, a panelist at the Pacific Fiber Conference and Training held in Nadi this week, said women in the tech or digital space brought a sense of authenticity which can be instrumental in the telecommunication sector.
Ms Mailman is the managing director of Indigenous Wealth Hub Pty Ltd (WH) Australia.
Her comments came during a panel discussion at the conference and in response to a question about how women can use their meticulous nature as an asset.
“We’re the nurturers, we’re the carers, we’re the ones that are going to make sure that job looks absolutely 100 per cent because that’s what we do.”
The question was posed by Ministry of Policing’s Cybersecurity manager Savenaca Siwatibau.
“I have worked with few women in especially in cyber security, and they have this nature of being very meticulous in everything they put their hands on,” he said.
“Now, using that nature, how can you encourage women to be more effective or how can they draw on that effectiveness as an asset to this world of telecommunication and ICT.”
The two-day conference ended on Thursday this week.
