Newly launched Women in Tech Fiji will be represented at the Women in Tech Global Summit in Osaka, Japan, this month.

Women in Tech Fiji Country Director Sagufta Janif said this was an opportunity for the organisation to share its work, its vision and stories on a global stage.

Women in Tech Fiji became a member of Women in Tech Global – the world’s leading organisation dedicated to closing the gender gap and empowering women to embrace technology – following the launch of the Fiji chapter in Suva on Monday.

And with the launch, members in Fiji can access services and benefits of the global movement that has chapters in 54 countries across six continents and a membership of more than 250,000 individuals.

“This is Fiji’s time to shine, and we are proud to carry your voices with us,” Ms Janif said.

Deputy PM and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, MSMEs and Communications Manoa Kamikamica said that milestone would cement Fiji’s role as a champion of inclusive innovation, align the country with global best practices, and unlock new partnerships and resources for this journey.

He said the Government would also ensure gender mainstreaming was embedded in regional and international instruments.

The annual meet will bring together a diverse group of leaders from government, business, and civil society to critically examine the present status of women in the technological landscape.

According to Women in Tech Global, the summit will spotlight achievements of women in STEAM ((Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and delve into topics related to new technologies that go beyond the traditional scope of gender and diversity.

Participants will engage with cutting-edge discussions on artificial intelligence, blockchain, cybersecurity and sustainable technology, exploring how those innovations could be harnessed to create inclusive solutions for all.

The Women in Tech Global Summit 2025 will take place on April 23-25 and will feature 500 delegates from 60 delegations and 80 speakers.
