The 2019 Fiji Sportswoman of the year and Olympic Games hopeful, Moana Wind, will feature for her Orca Swim Club at this year’s 2020 Short Course (SC) Grand Prix.

Head coach Ester Malani says the return of the elite swimmer from New Zealand, for the club was timely and would be an added boost for the club’s young swimmers.

“Moana (Wind) is back in the country and back into the water,” Malani said.

“She’s back and encouraging the swimmers and it’s a real big part of my team in having her motivate the team.”

Malani said the focus of the club this weekend was to accustom her team to competition after a long COVID-19 break.

“I am very positive of getting these children back in the water and help them back into normalcy.

“We started very slow, and two weeks ago we started to pick up. As a coach we have to be positive and get everything for our swimmers to come back and help one another.”
