A product of Mondelez International — Oreo, Ritz and Chips Ahoy are very popular in Fiji and is suited for every occasion.

“With this newspaper article, we wish to share a little bit of history about these amazing biscuits which have been very well received by Fijians for many decades now.”

Oreo

Oreo is a sandwich cookie consisting of two chocolate wafers with a sweet cream filling in between, and (as of 1974) are marketed as “Chocolate Sandwich Cookies” on the package in which they are held. Oreo has become the best-selling cookie in the United States since its introduction in 1912.

Ritz

In 1934, Ritz crackers were born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Three years after Ritz’s introduction to the US market, it became one of the most popular savoury cracker brands.

The cracker was called “Ritz” because it brought to mind the same glamorous, classy feeling as the word “Ritzy”, and it was also a homonym with Ritz-Carlton, a top-class hotel in New York at that time.

Compared with the then popular milk white square soda crackers, Ritz crackers give off a golden lustre with its butter texture.

Its circular shape with a serrated edge shows its elegance and uniqueness.

Chips Ahoy

Chips Ahoy! is a brand of chocolate chip cookies, baked and marketed by Nabisco, a subsidiary of Mondelz International, that debuted in 1963. It is the second-best-selling cookie in the United States after Oreo.

“There are many ways of enjoying these biscuits and they can be even used as ingredients to make interesting snacks and drinks as well,” Mr Gomes added.

Oreo, Ritz and Chips Ahoy are distributed in Fiji by Motibhai Group — bringing quality products for you and your family.
