Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has opted to revoke the appointment of acting Commissioner of Corrections Services Sevuloni Naucukidi.
In an interview, he said most members of the Constitutional Offices Commission also supported the revocation of Mr Naucukidi’s appointment.
However, the Commission has yet to meet to formally discuss the matter.
Last week, he told this newspaper that a flying minute was sent out by the secretariat to determine how many members had voted for revocation and how many had opted to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He also said discussions among Commission members had already begun through correspondence.
Mr Naucukidi has been charged with criminal intimidation.
