PROFESSIONAL Glen Wilkinson, who is ranked in the top 10 in Australia, will coach the national players ahead of their participation in the Oceania Championships in Sydney.
Jiten Prasad, Sam Mohammed, Deepak Bala, Sahil Prasad, Rahil Prasad and Krishneel Naicker will fly Fiji’s flag at the Oceania Championships which will be played from February 25 to March 5.
Billiards and Snooker Association of Fiji president Riffat Bhatti said they were thankful to Oceania Billiards and Snooker Federation president Barrie Jones for securing the services of Wilkinson to help them prepare.
Bhatti said Wilkinson had vast knowledge of the sport having played professionally in England.
“Wilkinson will be available for four days,” he said.
“We are in the process of arranging the time and the tables for the coaching sessions.
“Deepak will be flying over from New Zealand to join the side in Australia.”
Wilkinson is the national director of coaching for snooker in Australia. He won the Australian Open Championship in 1984, 2007, the Australian Masters Championship in 2006, 2007, the Australian National Championship in 2007 and the Oceania Championship in 2008, 2009.
