The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has advised motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution as several major roads across the Central and Eastern divisions remain flooded following persistent heavy rain yesterday and overnight.
In its latest update issued on 16 November 2025, the FRA confirmed that a number of roads are currently experiencing significant surface flooding, with some routes only accessible to 4×4 vehicles. Teams are also responding to debris-related hazards, including a fallen tree along Grantham Road.
Affected areas include Kings Road – Section at Vesida closed due to heavy surface flooding, Kings Road – Traffic Management Plan in place, with vehicles diverted to Wainivula Road, Daniva Roundabout, Nasole Junction, Foster Road – Surface flooding near Amra Junction, Cunningham Road – Surface flooding, Omkar Junction to Nasinu Junction, Jerusalem Road – Near Mobil Service Station, Vidal Ave – Accessible to 4×4 vehicles only and Fletcher Road – Accessible to 4×4 vehicles only
The Authority is urging the public to avoid flooded crossings, drive slowly, and comply with all traffic signs and temporary management measures currently in place. Motorists are reminded to maintain designated speed limits and remain vigilant when travelling in low-visibility conditions.
The FRA says it will continue to monitor weather-related impacts on the road network and provide further updates as the situation develops.
