Golf clubs from the Western Division will gather at the Nadi Airport Golf Club this Sunday, for the annual Theodore Trophy Teams event.

This annual event brings together top club teams from Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Denarau, and Natadola to compete across A, B, and C grades, with a special Junior/Women’s division also in place depending on the number of teams registered.

It’s not just about club pride, though the tournament will also serve as a selection platform for the West team for the upcoming East vs West showdown later in the year.

Golf Fiji president Amitesh Chandra confirmed the event’s rescheduled date and emphasised their commitment to supporting players.

“We’ve moved the Theodore Cup Challenge to Sunday, May 25. Registration starts at 9am and tee-off will be at 9.30am. Golf Fiji will cover green fees, lunch, and transportation for teams from Ba and Lautoka,” he said.

Each participating club will field a team of six players in each grade. The Junior/Women’s division, if held, will be a combined team of four players. The format for the day is Scratch Stableford, with the trophy going to the team with the highest combined stableford points.

“Tournament controller Rohit Chandra is overseeing logistics and is the main contact for queries. He also reminded clubs to submit their team lists by May 23,” Chandra added.
