Courts in the Western Division will remain closed from today until further notice as heavy rainfall and flooding continue to affect the region.
Chief Registrar Tomasi Bainivalu confirmed the closure in a statement, saying the decision was made to ensure the safety of court staff and members of the public.
“Closure of Western Division Courts due to Adverse Weather Conditions Due to heavy rainfall and ongoing flooding in the Western Division, all Courts in the Western Division will remain closed on Monday, 2nd March 2026.”
Mr Bainivalu added that the precautionary measure follows reports of worsening weather conditions across the division.
“This decision has been made to ensure the safety and well-being of both Court staff and users, following the latest reports of adverse weather conditions.”
He stated that court operations will resume once conditions improve and it is safe to reopen facilities.
“Court operations will resume as soon as the weather conditions improve and when it is safe to do so.”
The Chief Registrar also thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the disruption.
“We thank the public for their understanding and cooperation during this time. Please stay safe.”
