Update: 4:08PM WEIGHTLIFTER Itte Detenamo won a gold medal for Nauru in the men’s 105 plus category with a 376 kilogram lift this afternoon at the Oceania Weightlifting Championship at Vodafone Arena in Suva.
Detenamo had a snatch of 168kg and a clean and jerk of 208 kg
He said he was expecting to win a gold medal.
He was given stiff competition by Joseph Damon Kelly of Australia with a lift of 373kg.
Samoa’s Lauititi Lui came third.
