Weather watch | Unsettled weather may continue to affect Fiji over the next few days

Tropical Depression TD05F is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone due to an unfavourable environment.

According to Acting Director for Fiji Meteorological Services, Bipen Prakash, TD05F and the associated active trough of low pressure is expected to bring occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most parts of Fiji Group today and overnight.

“Sunny breaks are also expected between rain bands.

“A heavy rain warning, with flash flood warning continues to be in force for whole of Fiji Group.

“TD05F is also expected to bring strong winds over parts of the country.

“A strong wind warning remains in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group, western and northern Viti Levu, northern Bua, and Macuata Province and nearby smaller islands.

“The unsettled weather may continue to affect Fiji over the next few days.”
