Weather watch: Trough of low pressure slow moving to the northeast

A TROUGH of low pressure remains slow moving just to the northeast of the group.

The weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning says an associated cloud and showers is expected to affect the northern and eastern parts of Fiji till tomorrow.

The forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group expect occasional showers and few thunderstorms over Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands and Lau Group.

Elsewhere, some showers especially in the afternoon or evening.

Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls are also expected and localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

For mariners expect moderate to fresh northwest to southeast winds, becoming predominantly southeasterly from later today with moderate to rough seas.

The outlook for Wednesday  expect some showers over the eastern parts and interior of larger islands, elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.
