Weather watch: Trough of low pressure continues to move away

A trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the northeast of Fiji and continues to move farther away from the group.

This is according to the weather bulletin issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi this morning.

The forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group, expect some showers over northern Vanua Levu, Suva/Nausori – Tailevu, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi, Lau and Lomaiviti group.

Elsewhere, fine apart from afternoon or evening showers.

Isolated thunderstorms likely with moderate to fresh easterly winds, gusty at times and moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday expect some showers and isolated thunderstorms over the greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Cakaudrove and southern Bua.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with afternoon and evening showers.
