A tropical cyclone warning has been issued for the Fiji group.
According to the special weather bulletin number six for Fiji issued this morning from RSMC in Nadi, a gale warning remains in force for the land areas of Vanua Balavu, Mago, Tuvuca, Cicia, Nayau, Lakeba, Vanua Vatu, Moce, Vatoa, Kabara, Fulaga, Oneata and Ono-i-Lau.
A strong wind warning remains in force for the land areas of the Lomaiviti group and Western parts of Vanua Levu (Dreketi through to Labasa to Udu Point).
Also a heavy rain warning remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and the Lau group.
Tropical depression 09f centre (995hpa) was located about 30km north-northeast of Lakeba or about 185km Southeast of Taveuni at 6am today.
Close to its centre the cyclone is expected to have average winds of about 55km/hr with gust to about 80km/hr.
The depression is expected to move towards the south at 32km/hr , and the centre should pass close to Kabara at midday today and close to Ono-i-Lau at 6pm today.
