A heavy rain alert has been issued for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa and Northern Lau Group.
According to the Fiji Meteorological Service, this is due to a trough of low pressure that approaches the country from the northeast.
The associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the country from today (Wednesday) till Saturday.
