A heavy rain warning remain in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, interior and western parts of Viti Levu, Vatulele and Kadavu.
In its bulletin issued at 3.30am today, the national weather forecasting centre in Nadi advised of an active trough of low pressure that remained slow moving just to the West of Viti Levu, with associated rain bands that would continue to affect the group.
The weatherman also forecast occasional rain, will be heavy at times, and few thunderstorms for Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, interior and western parts of Viti Levu that include the greater Korolevu-Sigatoka-Nadi-Lautoka-Ba-Tavua-Rakiraki areas, and Vatulele and Kadavu.
Rain is expected to ease from later today.
The weatherman has advised members of the public of the possibility of flash flooding in low-lying areas, localised flooding of Irish crossing and informal settlements, and disruption to traffic flow and poor visibility on land and sea.
