A heavy rain warning remains in force for the interior, northern and eastern parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, and Lau and Lomaiviti groups.
A trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Fiji group, and associated cloud and rain are expected to affect the northern and eastern parts of the country until later today.
The weatherman has also forecast occasional rain that will be heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Rain is expected to gradually ease and clear out later today.
The national weather forecasting centre has also advised that localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying and flood-prone areas.
