All Fiji National University (FNU) campuses across Fiji will be closed tomorrow, November 14 and Wednesday, November 15, 2023 due to the tropical cyclone alert in force for the country.

This was confirmed by FNU Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba in a statement issued this afternoon.

Prof Nabobo-Baba said students are advised that Semester 2 final examinations are postponed until further notice.

“Lecturers and course coordinators must liaise closely with all students regarding their exams,” Prof Nabobo-Baba said.

“All staff are required to Work from Home (WFH) and liaise with their supervisors.

“Students and staff are reminded to take precautionary measures and adhere to all weather advisories periodically issued by the Fiji Meteorological Services Office and the National Disaster Management Office.

“Those in low-lying and flood-prone areas are advised to evacuate during daylight if required and know your evacuation centres, emergency contacts and disaster preparedness plans.

“The FNU Emergency Response Team (ERT) will be on standby to attend to any incidents or emergency matters that may arise during the closure of the FNU campuses.”
