The damaging heavy swell warning issued by the Fiji Meteorological Service in Nadi for coastal areas of Southwest Viti Levu, and surrounding maritime islands, remains in force.
These areas include the coastal areas from Natadola through the Coral Coast to Pacific Harbour; Southern coastal areas of Mamanuca Group, Beqa, Kadavu, Vatulele, Moala group, and the Southern Lau group.
The national forecasting centre in Nadi also reiterated the damaging heavy swell warning for open waters of Southwest Viti Levu waters, Mamanuca waters, Southern Koro Sea, Kadavu Passage, and Southern Lau waters.
The weather office says a high-pressure system to the far Southwest of Fiji was expected to generate and direct heavy to damaging southerly swells over the Southern waters and coastal areas of the country.
Areas that have been warned of the heavy swells are also advised of forecasts to expect sea flooding, especially during high tides.
