A heavy rain alert is now in force for Yasawa, Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
The Fiji weather office says a trough of low pressure lies over the group.
“Associated cloud and rain is expected to affect the group till later tomorrow as the trough weakens.”
“Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: Occasional to periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Yasawa, Mamanuca, Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
“Rain gradually easing to showers from later tomorrow. Elsewhere, occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms Isolated heavy falls likely. ”
