A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF LAU AND
LOMAIVITI GROUP, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN VANUA LEVU, TAVEUNI AND NEARBY
SMALLER ISLANDS.
Situation: Tropical Cyclone Amos Category 2 centre 989HPA lies to the
north of Fiji near 12.8S 178.9W or about 440km east of Rotuma at
12am this morning. It is moving east at 6km/hr but expected to
gradually drift southeast further away from Fiji. Associated rain
bands continue to affect the group.
Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Strong southeast winds with an average speed of 50km/hr with gusts of
upto 70km/hr over Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Eastern and Southern Vanua
Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands with rough to very rough
seas.
Elsewhere, moderate to fresh southeast winds with moderate to rough
seas.
Occasional rain, possibly heavy at times over Lau and Lomaiviti
Group, Eastern and Southern Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller
islands, the eastern parts and interior of the other larger islands.
Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.
Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, possibly heavy at times
over Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Eastern and Southern Vanua Levu,
Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the eastern parts and inteior of
the other larger islands. Elsewhere, fine apart from brief showers.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Occasional rain, possibly heavy at times.
Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :
Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.

For Labasa :
Cloudy periods with some showers.

For Savusavu : Occasional rain, heavy at times. Strong southeast
winds with an average speed of 50km/hr with gusts of upto 70km/hr.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS AND WATERS OF
ROUTMA.
Strong southerly winds with an average speed of 55km/hr with gusts of
upto 85km/hr. Winds gradually easing from later today.
Rough to very
rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells.
Periods of rain, heavy at times and squally few thunderstorms.
Rain
easing to showers tomorrow.
Outlook for Saturday : Some showers.

Situation:
Tropical Cyclone Amos Category 2 centre 989HPA lies to the north of
Fiji near 12.8S 178.9W or about 440km east of Rotuma at 12am this
morning. It is moving east at 6km/hr but expected to gradually drift
southeast further away from Fiji.
Associated rain bands continue to
affect the group.
Forecast to midnight tonight for Fiji waters:
Southeast winds 25 to 30 knots gusting to 45 knots.
Rough to very rough seas. Moderate southeast swells.
