Excitement mounts as only a week remains until the 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl held in Suva and Labasa.

From next Monday to Wednesday, Suva will come alive as the annual event takes centre stage with competitions in volleyball, netball, boxing, cricket, touch rugby and rugby league.

On Thursday and Friday, people in the north will be in on all the action with the soccer and rugby matches to be played for the first time at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Police have several titles to defend including the main rugby match, soccer, women’s touch rugby, boxing, cricket and men’s volleyball.

“We are ready,” Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga said when asked about their chances of defending their titles this year.

Army on the hand, will have to defend the rugby league and touch rugby titles.

“I know that they are preparing well but we are ready,” Lutunauga said.

The toast of the event is the men’s rugby match and Lutunauga did not mince his words when he said, “We are ready to defend that trophy. As I have stated in the challenge, the Tanoa will remain at Nasova.”

Fans hoping to witness the soccer and rugby matches next Thursday and Friday at Subrail Park can purchase tickets from $10 for the embankment, $15 for the side pavilion and $25 for the main pavilion.
