Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka – FIJI GOVT

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says Fiji is navigating a complex period as the country responds to overlapping national and global challenges.

Speaking in an update, Mr Rabuka said Government is simultaneously dealing with recovery efforts following Tropical Cyclone Vaianu, preparations for a national State Funeral, and the impact of global instability.

“We are managing multiple issues at once — preparing for a national State Funeral, supporting recovery from a natural disaster, and navigating global uncertainty,” he said.

He noted that global developments continue to affect fuel prices, shipping and supply chains, as well as the overall cost of living.

“While the ceasefire may help stabilise fuel supply in the short term, the situation remains uncertain,” Mr Rabuka said.

“Government continues to monitor developments closely and will respond as necessary to protect national interests.”

Despite the challenges, the Prime Minister stressed that national unity remains key.

“Through it all, our strength remains in our unity,” he said.

“Let us continue to act with discipline, resilience, and care for one another… and remain focused on the well-being of our nation.”
