“We are improving as a squad with every game.”
This, according to Kaiviti Silktails head coach Wes Naiqama.
The side suffered their second defeat in the Jersey Flegg Cup competition after going down to Rabbitohs 14-20 at Churchill Park last Saturday.
“I am extremely proud of the boys’ effort and we could see we play and compete better with ball in hand,” he said.
The former Fiji Bati captain said they were unlucky not to get away with a win against the Rabbitohs.
“We played a very gritty game of footy and it was a tough match.
“The boys are just as disappointed as we are after the match against the Rabbitohs but we got a lot of confidence from that match.
“We are scraping up on our potential at the moment and there is so much more room for improvement,” added Naiqama.
The side will face St George Illawarra Dragons this Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
The Dragons recorded a good victory in their first match, beating Thunderbolts U-21 by 36-14, however, went down to Knights U-21 by 4-28 last Saturday.
The Silktails are 12th of the standings with zero points while the Dragons are on 9th spot with two points in the competition.
