Staff of the Indian High Commission, yesterday, joined Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Palaniswamy Subramanyan Karthigeyan, for a friendship walk and clean-up drive along the Nasese foreshore in Suva yesterday.
Mr Karthigeyan expressed the initiative was part of the friendship campaign that started in October last year.
“This is to celebrate the 75 years of India’s diplomatic presence in Fiji,” he said.
“We thought that today we would have this walk to celebrate our unique and close friendship with Fiji.”
He also said this was a way of giving back to the country they have called home.
The friendship walk and clean-up drive started from Veiuto Primary School at 6.45am and ended at the My Suva Park bure.
