The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) has appointed a special taskforce to investigate findings of an audit into Walesi.
FICAC received a copy of the audit from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica today.
A revealed in Parliament yesterday, Government disbursed a total of $123.6 million for the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Project for the operations of Walesi PTE LTD from 2015 to 2022.
In a statement, FICAC states this is a case of national interest.
Commissioner Barbara Malimali has directed the special taskforce led by Assistant Manager Investigation – Economic Crimes Unit Alifereti Wakanivesi to commence investigations today.
