Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) will get a new chief executive officer with the confirmation that current CEO Dr Amit Chanan is ending his three year contract with the entity.
Dr Chanan has informed the WAF Board of his decision not to seek another term when his contract ends in March 2025.
“Under his guidance, we have successfully completed the Viria Water Treatment Plant project, which is one of the biggest water infrastructure projects successfully delivered in the South Pacific,” WAF Chairman, Ratu Savenaca Seniloli.
“Dr Chanan has also been instrumental in developing and launching the Water Sector 2050 Strategy. This visionary strategy outlines $8.5 billion investment program for ensuring sustainable and resilient water and sanitation services for all Fijians over the next three decades.”
Ratu Seniloli added that the WAF Board respects Dr Chanan’s decision to seek new challenges.
