WATER Authority of Fiji (WAF) is the team to beat in the oldies division at the Fiji Bitter Nawaka 7s.
The side captained by former national rep Samu Saumaisue upset defending champions Nawaka 20-7 in the opening game.
WAF with big names such as like Viliame Satala, Taniela Qauqau and Manueli Tiko executed their game plan well and was able to outsmart their opponents.
Nawaka had the services of Sailosi Nawavu, Api Naevo and Lalai Driu.
WAF defeated Big Bula 21-0 in the second game.
Nawaka regrouped to down Big Bula 22-14.
Saumaisue was happy with the performance of his team on day one.
He said the idea to form a WAF oldies team was to maintain fitness among the workmates.
“We have formed a team in the South and West,” Saumaisue said.
